SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — This edition of Teacher of the Week goes to Kaci Garmon, a seventh-grade teacher for Wall ISD.

"Be encouraging and positive for them. I try to encourage them even when they make mistakes, to give them positive feedback, show them what they're doing right, how they can build on that." Garmon said.

Garmon teaches seventh-grade math and has been teaching for 22 years, 6 of those years at Wall.

"You know, the classroom has to be an environment where we can make mistakes so that we can grow. And I always tell them, our brain grows more when we make mistakes than it does when we get it right."
