ESPN’s College GameDay has been a staple of college football weekends for quite some time, but since former NFL punter Pat McAfee joined the show three years ago, he’s brought with him a fan-favorite contest.

Each week, one of the first 300 fans to arrive wins a raffle to participate in McAfee’s Kicking Contest. They must make a 33-yard field goal for what is supposed to be $100,000, but McAfee tends to up the ante.

In a unique circumstance with a must-see kick, two Penn State students took home a massive, $300,000 payday Saturday before the White Out vs. Oregon.

William (last name undisclosed) — a finance major from Virginia — won the raffle but wasn’t confident in his abilities to kick. Thus, he found someone near him in the crowd who said he played soccer in high school.
