Science and Innovation Minister Stephen Dawson has lifted off with a delegation of WA top space minds to the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney.

Flanked by 16 Western Australian organisations like universities and businesses specialising in engineering, robotics, and geospacial mapping, the delegation will work to build relationships and share knowledge.

The Sydney event is the 76th edition of the event with around 10,000 attendees from more than 100 countries set to take part.

The theme of this year’s event is “Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth”, with a focus on the link between space innovation and sustainability.

WA will have its own stall as part of the event’s “Australia zone,” which will feature a map of the State’s space infrastructure and imagery of WA’s night skie
