MANHATTAN, KS — UCF lost starting quarterback Tayven Jackson to an injury in the first half against Kansas State on Saturday.

Jackson was struck by KSU defensive end Cody Stufflebean and went down awkwardly. He tried to get up but fell to the ground, where trainers attended to him. Eventually, he made his way to the medical tent and, after a few moments, went into the locker room without his pads and jersey.

Jacurri Brown entered the game on the next possession, but on a 3rd and 8, his pass was intercepted by Kansas State.

Jackson took over for an injured Cam Fancher in the second quarter of the season opener against Jacksonville State. He led the Knights to two fourth-quarter touchdowns and a 17-10 win over the Gamecocks. He started the next two games, leading the team to wins over
