STONE COUNTY, Mo. — A man was arrested after being accused of shooting a person while handling a rifle.
According to online court documents, Chazz Lee Harris, 20, is facing charges of second-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated.
On Sept. 21, Stone County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim at a Stone County residence. The probable cause statement said the victim, who was shot in the abdomen, was on the way to the hospital.
Investigators identified Harris as the suspect and interviewed witnesses who claimed he had been shooting firearms outside earlier in the day. Upon returning inside, Harris was seen handling a rifle in the living room when it discharged. The victim was standing just outside the front door
