A fight at a Southern California Motel 6 ended with a man being fatally stabbed late Friday night, police said.

Officers with the Claremont Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a fight at the motel, located at 840 South Indian Hill Boulevard, just before 11 p.m.

“As officers were responding to the location, the caller stated there was possibly a victim of a stabbing,” Claremont police said in a media release.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found one man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Medical aid was rendered to the victim by the officers and responding L.A. County Fire Department personnel, who transported him to the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

His identity was not released.
