A serious allegation has surfaced in Cuttack district’s Tangi-Choudwar block, where over 150 tribal families claim they have been deprived of the government-leased land allotted to them more than two decades ago.

Despite receiving official land pattas from the state government in 1999, the families say they continue to live on forest land, unaware of the actual location of their allotted property.

According to the affected villagers, each family had been granted 2 decimals of land under lease and has even been paying land revenue on a regular basis. However, when they attempted to locate or use their land, they discovered that it was no longer available to them.
