Elon Musk, Prince Andrew, and Peter Thiel have been named in newly released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender. These files, part of an ongoing investigation, were handed over to the House Oversight Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate. They reveal connections between Epstein and several high-profile individuals.

One entry from December 6, 2014, mentions a potential visit by Musk to Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands. Musk has previously stated that he was invited to the island but declined the offer. Prince Andrew's name appears on a flight manifest from May 12, 2000, indicating he was a passenger on a flight with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Buckingham Palace records confirm that Prince Andrew was in New York for a charity event around that time. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not faced charges related to Epstein's activities.

The documents also reference Peter Thiel in connection with a planned lunch in November 2017, and Steve Bannon is noted for a breakfast meeting scheduled for February 2019. Bill Gates is mentioned in relation to a tentative breakfast party in December 2014. Gates has previously described his meeting with Epstein as a mistake.

Democratic lawmakers have emphasized the importance of these documents in understanding Epstein's extensive network, with committee spokesperson Sara Guerrero stating, "It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world."

In contrast, Republicans have criticized the release of these files, accusing Democrats of prioritizing politics over the victims. They plan to publish the complete set of documents soon.

Epstein was first investigated in 2008 after allegations of molestation surfaced. He faced further legal troubles in 2019 when he was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell while awaiting trial.
