The inclement weather that was such a factor several weeks ago made its return again Friday. Despite a couple of delays at a couple of schools, though, all games were completed.
While the Athens area once again had its share of lopsided beatdowns, there were a number of games that went down to the wire. Oconee County scored two late touchdowns to escape with a victory over No. 10 Cherokee Bluff, Bethlehem Christian slipped by Athens Christian, and Hart County thwarted a fevered comeback by Prince Avenue Christian with an interception in the final minute of play.
No. 1 North Oconee remained undefeated and is the last such team in the area as East Jackson’s undefeated season took a 55-10 beating at the hands of No. 1 Hebron Christian.
