LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The U.S. Department of Education has named this year’s U.S. Presidential Scholars, honoring the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.

Established in 1964, the program honors outstanding high school seniors. It expanded in 1979 to include the arts and in 2015 to recognize achievements in career and technical education.

Each year, up to 161 students nationwide are named Presidential Scholars. Arkansas is celebrating five students for 2025: • Taylor Matthew Conran, Farmington High School, Farmington • Nideaya E.
