Abortion pill legislation will be considered by lawmakers when they reconvene for the 2026 legislative session in January, according to State Rep. Jamie Kiel (R-Russellville).

Kiel told host Greg Davis on WXJC Radio's "Priority Talk" on Friday, "All abortions in Alabama now as far as we know are by pill and most by out of state or out of country pill manufacturers."

The Texas Legislature recently passed legislation banning mail-order abortion pills.

"A lot of people think since we passed that law in 2019 that abortion has stopped in Alabama. Really, that's not the case at all," Kiel said.
