Tropical Depression Nine formed over Cuba on Saturday. This system is expected to become Tropical Storm, and possibly Hurricane, Imelda in the next few days, the NEXT Weather team said.

It is now forecast to remain off the coast of the Carolinas as a hurricane on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As of 5 p.m. Sept. 27, Tropical Depression Nine is located about 200 miles northwest of the eastern tip of Cuba and about 105 miles south-southwest of the Central Bahamas, moving northwestward at 5 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
