In a twist at Milan Fashion Week, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci sat front row as their “Devil Wears Prada” characters, for another public filming of the iconic fashion movie’s sequel.

Murmurs of a surprise at the Dolce and Gabbana show flew around Milan all morning. Early in the afternoon, whispers from photographers assembled outside the show revealed that Streep would appear in character as Miranda Priestly, the cutthroat editor in chief of the fictional fashion magazine “Runway.”

Sure enough, Streep strutted in to the Metropol theatre a little after 3 p.m. wearing Priestly’s signature cat-eye glasses, a nude patent trench coat and very high heels. She was accompanied by Tucci, who plays the editor’s confidant Nigel.
