LAWRENCE — Kansas football will have to finish its game Saturday against Cincinnati without a key linebacker, as Bangally Kamara was ejected for targeting.

Kamara, a redshirt senior, hit Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby as the Bearcats were driving in the third quarter. After a review, it was determined he had committed the penalty. At the time of his disqualification, there was 9:43 left in the third quarter rand the score was tied 20-20.

So far in the game, Kamara had three tackles and half a tackle for loss. Without him, the Jayhawks will need to turn toward redshirt freshman linebacker Jon Jon Kamara. It’s not only going to test KU’s depth at the position, but the ejected Kamara is also one of the better players on the Jayhawks’ defense.
