A Philadelphia man who was arrested for a shooting in May after being released on unsecured bail in another, earlier shooting was sentenced to 5 to 10 years in a state prison.
Wafiq Timmons, 20, pleaded guilty before Common Pleas Court Judge Dominic Pileggi to charges of aggravated assault and firearms not be carried without a license in the May 15 shooting in the area of 69th and Ludlow streets, as well as possession of a firearm prohibited in the original March 10 shooting.
In the March shooting, police responded to area of Greenwood Avenue and Crosley Road about 5:30 p.m. and found three spent shell casings near the 2nd Ward park entrance.
Detectives interviewed a witness and watched hours of surveillance footage before identifying Timmons and co-defendant Laqwone Samay L. Bennett, 1
