A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal car and scooter crash that killed a Stamford man in May, officials said .

Stamford police said they have completed an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle vs. scooter collision that occurred in the 100 block of Hope Street on May 29, just before 11 p.m.

A 2011 BMW was northbound on Hope Street and collided with a person riding a stand-up scooter that was also northbound, police said. The impact caused the scooter operator, a 46-year-old Stamford resident, to be thrown from his scooter onto the roadway. The scooter was heavily damaged and broken into several pieces, police said.
