BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant and booked a man accused of raping and attacking a woman after breaking into her Denham Springs apartment earlier this month.

According to arrest documents, Ridell Lamont Lambert, 37, is facing charges of first-degree rape, aggravated burglary, and interfering with emergency communication.

Investigators said officers responded to the 4300 block of Denham Street around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 8 for a burglary in progress. They reported finding a woman screaming for help as she ran from her apartment.
