BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 15-year-old was killed and a second teen was wounded in a shooting late Friday night in east Bakersfield, according to police.
The Bakersfield Police Department said officers were called to the area of Morning and Highland Knolls drives for a report of a shooting at around 11:42 p.m. Friday.
Two teens -- a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy -- were found with apparent gunshot wounds in the 4200 block of Morning Drive, police said in a release. The two were taken to a nearby hospital where the 15-year-old was pronounced dead. The 16-year-old suffered minor injuries, police said.
No other details about the incident were released by the department.
