COLLEGEVILLE — Grady Minnerath's freshman season ended earlier than he wanted it to last fall.
The ROCORI High School graduate was a backup defensive tackle as a true freshman for St. John's last season, but showed plenty of signs he was ready for more playing time before he tore two ligaments in his left ankle after three games.
"I was so disappointed when the injury happened last year," Minnerath said. "I got hurt mid-season and then was out until the end of December. I came back and did track and field. I needed the surgery done because otherwise it would have affected me for the rest of my life."
