AMES, Iowa —
Iowa State plays host to one of the Big 12's recent newcomers this weekend.
For the first time since 1968, Iowa State and Arizona will meet on the football field. Iowa State is 1-0 in league play, while Arizona begins its conference slate this weekend.
The Cyclones are aiming for a fifth consecutive win to open the year, a feat they have only accomplished once in the last 40 years — last year, during a 7-0 start. This would be the first time with back-to-back 5-0 starts in program history.
KCCI's Shannon Ehrhardt will be in Ames for the game. We'll keep you updated here when it gets underway, and be sure to tune in to KCCI at 10 p.m. for highlights.
In the meantime, here's what to know about the game and about Arizona.
