MINNEAPOLIS — One month after tragedy struck Annunciation Catholic School, the school community gathered Saturday morning for a poignant prayer service on the church’s lawn, refusing to let the darkness block out their light. Principal Matthew DeBoer led the service, and reminding attendees that “we are called to be the light, remembering what happened, but not being defined by what happened.”
Parents, students, and faculty leaned on one another, sharing grief and hope. “It’s through building meaningful and loving relationships that we can create the world that Harper and Fletcher believed in,” DeBoer said.
