ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 19-year-old man was shot in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood overnight, according to Atlanta police.

The shooting happened at around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday near a series of homes off James P. Brawley Drive NW. The victim, who is expected to recover, took himself to Grady Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Investigators are canvassing the scene. Atlanta News First crews saw dozens of shell casings on the sidewalk and at least 48 evidence markers.

Police said they don’t have any suspect information. The incident remains under investigation.
