LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An investigation is underway after a collision left one person dead Saturday night.

Officials with the Ward Police Department reported that at around 7:00 p.m., emergency personnel were sent to the Moore Street railroad crossing to assist in the collision.

First responders arrived and found the vehicle involved and the individual who suffered fatal injuries from the crash.

Police said the identity of the individual is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

Officials stated that the incident is under investigation by the Ward Police Department, the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, and the Arkansas State Police in coordination with Union Pacific Railroad Police.

Police said details will be released as they become available.
