ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash off Ash Road in Granger.

A 2007 Ford F-150 was headed south on Ash Road, when the driver, a 76-year-old man, suffered a medical emergency while driving.

He lost control and went off the east side of the road, hitting a tree on a property at 52284, and kept moving southbound, before stopping.

The 76-year-old man, John Pickard, was found unresponsive and not breathing at the scene, and responding medics performed life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. Pickard was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team (CIT) responded to this crash, which is still currently under investigation.
