A pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on a freeway transition road in Long Beach was publicly identified Saturday.
Oscar Santos, 49, died from traumatic injuries in an accident, the Medical Examiner’s office said. His city of residence was not available.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 9:24 p.m. Thursday to the transition road from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway and the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway, where they found the victim lying on the side of the transition road, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
Santos was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP closed the freeway transaction road for three and half hours while they investigating the cause of the crash.
