VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach fire crews brought a large barn fire under control in about an hour in a rural area of the city on Saturday evening.
The fire in the 2300 block of Vaughan Road, in the Creeds area, was reported at 6:44 p.m., according to a Virginia Beach Fire Department spokeswoman.
They arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a barn of about 10,000 square feet. The barn housed farm equipment.
Crews marked the fire under control at 8:02 p.m.
Crews remained on scene to ensure there were no flare-ups. There were no injuries to civilians, firefighters or pets, and no one was displaced.
The origin and cause are under investigation.
On Facebook, Coastal Cattle posted that its store would be closed until further notice. The business noted gratefulness for t
