VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — In Virginia Beach, city leaders say they are monitoring impacts of a possible tropical depression next week.
Virginia Beach officials say although it's too early to predict the severity of the approaching storm, measures are in place to mitigate major damage in case there are heavy rains, high winds and storm surge.
"Emergency management coordinates with all the departments across the city. Our public safety staff, public works, parks and recreation, public utilities, obviously our communications team, and 911," said Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator Renee McKinnon.
