LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — A 52-year-old motorcyclist from Madisonville was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 307, according to Louisiana State Police.

The crash claimed the life of Richard Billiot.

Troopers said the crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. near Sanchez Road in Kraemer. Investigators said a 2019 Jeep Wrangler had stopped in the eastbound lane to wait for westbound traffic before making a left turn into a private driveway.

At the same time, Billiot, who was riding a 2025 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound, attempted to pass the Jeep in a designated passing zone. As the Jeep turned left, the motorcycle struck the driver’s side door, a release said.
