After a stormy Saturday, rain lashed parts of Mumbai on Sunday morning. Torrential rain is further expected to sweep the city and adjoining districts, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds today. A red alert has been sounded for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ghats of Nasik, and Pune on September 28.

Mumbai has been experiencing an intermittent spell of rain over the past few days. The Met Department has predicted more rain, despite the city surpassing its monthly average quota this month. The situation in Mumbai is unlikely to improve for the next few days.
