HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii’s largest bicycling event will take place Sunday and is expected to attract nearly 2,000 people.

The Hawaii Bicycling League (HBL) will host the 42nd Annual Honolulu Century Ride.

The ride begins at 6:15 a.m. at Kapiolani Park, just before Monsarrat Avenue in Waikiki.

Riders will then travel along Kalanianaole Highway, from Hanauma Bay to Sandy Beach, which will be closed to vehicles from 6 to 8 a.m.

The league said an aid station at Kailua Intermediate School will be open to cyclists between 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

HBL said riders will then head back to the Kapiolani Park, where there will be music, food, and live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
