100 Years Ago, 1925: Reports from the Jefferson Hospital this morning were to the effect that Edwin A. Yarnall of Swarthmore, a well-known bank employee, who was shot by bandits early Saturday morning in Philadelphia, was showing signs of improvement. Attendants said that Mr. Yarnall has a fighting chance for recovery. Mr. Yarnall underwent an operation on Saturday. A local anesthetic was administered while the surgeons performed the surgery. The pluck of the patient, who is 60 years old, amazed the doctors.
