NEW ORLEANS — A shooting early Sunday on Bourbon Street left one woman dead and three other people injured, New Orleans police said.

The New Orleans Police Department said officers responded around 2:22 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. When they arrived, officers found three victims — two women and a man. One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene. The other woman and the man were taken to a hospital.

A short time later, police located a fourth victim near the intersection of Saint Charles Avenue and Canal Street. The woman, who had a graze gunshot wound, was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives are gathering evidence and information to identify who was responsible for the shooting and to determine a motive.
