After flooding caused by the swollen Musi River, water has started to recede in Hyderabad. Areas like Chaderghat were left muddy and filled with debris. GHMC began a cleanup and disinfection drive while distributing food and deploying medical teams

Hyderabad: A day after a swollen Musi ran through inhabited areas and wreaked havoc, the flood waters on Sunday started to recede at most places along the river banks.

In the wake of the flooding, several areas, mainly around Chaderghat , were muddy and slushy and piled up with fallen trees and tree branches. A lot of waste that gushed in with the floodwater had inundated several of the houses.

The water receding from homes also left behind the belongings strewn around. Essential commodities, furniture, clothes, and utensils, gas cylinders
