KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Homicide detectives have opened an investigation into a Saturday night shooting that left one person dead.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 27, the Kansas City Police Department was dispatched to 5200 Winner Road. Officers began to search the area and came across security guards who said there had been a shooting.

While they were on the scene, dispatch notified officers that one man had been taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. He later died, and his identity has not yet been released.

A second man was taken to a different hospital. The extent of his injuries is unclear, but KCPD said he is in stable condition.
