WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Hutchinson Police Department confirmed that it traced a bomb threat called into the Hutchinson Regional Airport to a Wichita boy. Police didn’t provide an age for the threat maker but described the caller who left a voicemail indicating that there was a bomb attached to an airplane at the airport as “a juvenile male.”
An investigation determined that the threat wasn’t credible but not before airport staff decided to lock down the airport and restrict flights, coming in and going out.
Hutchinson PD officers responded to the reported threat a little after 8 a.m. Friday. The boy called in the threat a little before 11 p.m. Thursday.
