DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A man was arrested Saturday night in connection with the death of a 49-year-old woman.

According to arrest affidavits:

Davenport police, fire and Medic EMS responded at 8:25 p.m. to a home in the 3800 block of West Locust Street and found a woman bleeding from her head outside the home.

First responders learned the woman appeared to have been hit in the head with an object by another family member, later identified as Donald Brentise Jr., who was still on scene.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Brentise was taken into custody after initially refusing to comply with orders to leave the home.
