DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The woman police say was killed Saturday after being hit in the head with a hammer was identified as 49-year-old Tammy Brentise.

Donald Brentise Jr., 41, was arrested Saturday night and is charged with first-degree murder, going armed with intent, and interference with a weapon.

According to arrest affidavits:

Davenport police, fire and Medic EMS responded at 8:25 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 3800 block of West Locust Street and found a woman bleeding from her head outside the home.

First responders learned the woman, later identified as Tammy Brentise, appeared to have been hit in the head with an object by another family member, later identified as Donald Brentise Jr., who was still on scene.
