The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has opened nominations for Pennsylvania’s 2026 Trail of the Year , giving residents the opportunity to showcase their favorite trail from the state’s extensive 14,000-mile network.

The winning trail will receive recognition through a news release, a commemorative poster for statewide distribution, a trailhead marker, and a grant for educational programs promoting safety and environmental protection.
