SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Parents in Sumner County are pushing back on two school-related measures aimed at honoring controversial conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

At a Sumner County Commission meeting last week, Commissioner Jeremy Mansfield proposed renaming Wolfpack Way, the road that leads to all three Liberty Creek schools, as Charlie Kirk Way.

“I would love to see us when we adopt the road in front of the new Liberty Creek School, instead of being Wolfpack Way, that we consider naming that Charlie Kirk Way,” Mansfield said in the September 15 meeting. “I think that would be a good homage. I know that will be happening all over the nation.”
