Overnight showers and thunderstorms raced into parts of the Albuquerque Metro Area. This morning, that same line of storms is pushing off toward the northeast across New Mexico. That is just the first round of showers and storms expected for Sunday. Widespread thunderstorms are expected to fire up this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may turn strong into southern and south-central New Mexico with gusty winds and hail as the primary concerns. Aside from that heavy rainfall will also be a concern with showers and storms.

The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch in place for the Sacramento Mountain and Ruidoso region that is set to expire at 9 p.m. Additionally, Otero and Eddy Counties are also in a Flood Watch for heavy rainfall and flash flooding until Sunday eveni
