Tropical Depression Nine is organizing just off eastern Cuba this Sunday. It's moving NNW at 7 mph with winds at 35 mph. Advertisement

The storm is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm later today, bringing tropical-storm-force conditions to parts of the Bahamas and eastern Cuba through Monday. Tropical storm conditions are also possible along Florida's east coast Monday, where a watch is in effect.

Heavy rain and flash flooding are likely in Cuba and the Bahamas through Tuesday. Even if the center stays offshore, large swells and high surf will impact much of the Southeast U.S. coast midweek.
