Transfer of Chandigarh Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma.

Chandigarh Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma has been suddenly transferred, raising discussions among administration officials. The senior IAS officer of the 1992 batch met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at 4:30 PM on Sunday. Following this meeting, the central government appointed him as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi.

Verma, originally from Uttar Pradesh, joined the Chandigarh administration as an advisor in January last year and later became its first Chief Secretary. He is scheduled to retire next year.

At present, no official order has been issued regarding who will succeed him as Chandigarh’s Chief Secretary.
