CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Eight people are seriously hurt after a crash early Sunday morning in northwest Charlotte, according to MEDIC.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. on Brookshire Boulevard near Interstate 85. MEDIC said eight people were taken to a local hospital.

According to MEDIC, five people had life-threatening injuries and three people had serious injuries.

It’s not clear what led to the crash or if any charges will be filed.

The road has since reopened.
