The MTA has scaled back proposed fare hikes after receiving more than 1,300 public comments from riders, advocates, and elected officials, according to Gothamist.
Among the revisions, the weekly fare cap will increase from $34 to $35, instead of the previously proposed $36.
The base fare for a single subway or bus ride is still expected to increase to $3. Other changes offer more flexibility, including extended ticket validity for LIRR and Metro-North until 4 a.m. the next day, according to the Gothamist.
The agency is also expanding its “family fare” program, raising the eligible age from 11 to 17 and allowing use at any time during the week, the report said.
