Professor U.P. Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of Purvanchal University and Chairman of the Maharana Pratap Education Council, passed away on Sunday. His final rites were held at Rajghat on the sacred Rapti River, with his eldest son, Professor V.K. Singh, performing the funeral rituals. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Singh’s residence in Rajendra Nagar to pay floral tributes and offer condolences to the family.

The event drew a large gathering of political leaders, educationalists, RSS officials, and citizens, all honoring Singh’s contributions to education and public service.
