WASHINGTON — Cooling gel pads sold across the country for use in car seats and strollers are being recalled because they could overheat, risking burns when used.

Hoovy, the company that manufactures the heating pads , issued the voluntary recall in August for all Cooling Gel Insert Pads sold by Hoovy. The products are labeled with SKU number HV-1275 and UPC code 850001215008.

The black padded inserts, which feature the Hoovy logo in white on the bottom right corner, were sold between April and July 2025 at Target stores, Target.com and Walmart.com for about $25. They were marketed to parents for their childrens' comfort while riding in cars or strollers on hot days.
