CONROE, Texas — A 49-year-old Conroe man was arrested and charged with promotion of child pornography following a months-long investigation by Montgomery County law enforcement, Precinct 3 officials announced Friday.

Jon Paul Sheptock was taken into custody by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers after detectives searched his home. He is currently being held in the Coryell County Jail awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.

The investigation began in August 2025 when detectives from Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable's Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Unit received information indicating Sheptock was in possession of and involved in producing child sexual assault material, including videos and images of a child under 18 engaged in sexual conduct.
