PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A bicyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle, according to Port Arthur Police Department Chief Tim Duriso.

The fatal incident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Memorial Boulevard, where a driver hit a man riding a bicycle on the southbound inside lane.

The bicyclist died at the scene, according to Chief Duriso.

The driver remained at the scene after the collision, police said. Chief Duriso confirmed the department's advanced investigation team responded to the scene.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation.
