NORWELL, Mass. —
A tricentennial celebration for a quiet hilltop in Norwell.
The land is home to the Church Hill Cemetery, which celebrated the 300th anniversary of its founding on Saturday.
The Friends of Church Hill Cemetery nonprofit group started a fundraising campaign to provide $300,000 worth of perpetual endowment funds for grounds preservation, gravestone restoration and maintenance.
The cemetery predates the founding of the United States.
Graves in the plot include American Revolutionary War veterans and abolitionists.
