TOWAMENCIN – Lansdale Catholic’s defense needed one more stop in the final minute to deny West Catholic’s comeback bid. Russell Holmes Jr. made sure he was the one to provide it for the Crusaders.

“It was fourth down, I realized the play was on me, had to make a play for my team,” Holmes Jr. said. “I saw the inside move, I came in, I made a play. That’s what I do, I make plays for my team, we keep playing football.”

Holmes Jr. broke into the backfield as the Burrs’ faced a 4th-and-6 from the LC 46 and came through with a game-sealing sack, Lansdale Catholic football holding on for a 20-14 victory at North Penn High School’s Crawford Stadium to stay undefeated in the Philadelphia Catholic League Blue Division.
